Who We Are

SAPS is the student-led platform connecting, representing, and developing today’s aspiring scientists.

We are Student Ambassadors from both APS Accredited and Non Accredited Universities
throughout the UK and beyond.

We want to help students from the postgraduate to undergraduate level prepare for the next step in their education and future careers.

We aim to encourage networking amongst our members and share ideas. We also aim to
host events and webinars with speakers from both academia and industry to help you
better decide your future study and career plans.

Hadassah Anyanwu

University of Greenwich, London

Short Biography

Hadassah recently completed a BSc Pharmaceutical Sciences degree at the University of Greenwich. She is the Co-founder of the Pharmaceutical Science Society at Greenwich, and served as an Academic Student Representative, and Student Peer Mentor during her studies at Greenwich, demonstrating a strong commitment to academic excellence and student engagement. She is also a member of the APS New Scientists Focus Group.

Ileana Lopez Wagner

London Metropolitan University, London

Short Biography

Ileana recently graduated from the BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Science course at London Metropolitan University and is currently pursuing her MSc degree in Cosmetic Science. During her time in her bachelor’s degree, she has worked as a Success Coach, guiding first and second years from the Chemistry and Pharmaceutical group to better understand the course content and their academic skills.

Charlotte Oliver

Queen's University Belfast, Ireland

Short Biography

Charlotte is pursuing a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. She is interested in advanced drug delivery systems, including Nanoparticle-based carriers for enhanced targeted treatment and has undertaken a research project in the enhancement of radiation effects in prostate cancer by AuNP.  She has experience in the design and evaluation of basic delivery platforms and would like to contribute to further research and formation of patient-specific therapeutics that improve results in areas like oncology and disease management.

Foday Samura

University of Greenwich, London

Short Biography

Foday has a Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Greenwich and is currently studying for an MSc in Data Science and its Application to Medicine. He works with the Outreach and Educational Partnerships Team at the University of Greenwich as an Outreach Ambassador and works closely with schools and further education colleges to support their students as they take their next steps. He is a member of the New Scientist Focus Group and would like a career in drug research and data science in the pharmaceutical industry.

Kieran Sproston

SEDA, UK and APS Treasurer

Short Biography

Kieran is a Senior Scientist in GMP operations at Seda CMS. Previously a Formulation Scientist at Pfizer supporting formulation and manufacturing process development for solid oral dosage forms he has experience working on tablet, capsule, and oral suspensions, with both continuous and batch processes. A registered Pharmacist who graduated from the University of Manchester and completed his training year split between Paydens Pharmacy and Pfizer. He is passionate about supporting the next generation of scientists.

Demilade Amosu

University of Greenwich, London

Short Biography

An undergraduate studying Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Greenwich, I am intentional about advocating for the interest of students and their overall involvement in research and industry. I aspire to foster the connection between academia and real-world professionals, building a dynamic and supportive community tagged by excellence within the APS.

 

Selina B. Appiah

Kingston University, London

Short Biography

Currently pursuing a BSc in Pharmaceutical Science at Kingston University. I am Course Representative and Faculty Representative of Health, Social Sciences and Computing Education (HSSCE). I have a Bronze and Silver Certificate of Achievement from Kingston University for my academic performance and extracurricular involvement. Passionate about drug research and aim to develop innovative treatments that improve patient outcomes. Also pursuing a Master’s in Biopharmaceutical Sciences and committed to contributing to the pharmaceutical industry through research, innovation and accessible drug development.

Gabriella Dines

London Metropolitan University, London

Short Biography

Student representative for Pharmaceutical Science, BSc for two years. I am a recent graduate in Pharmaceutical Science gaining a variety of skills and experience during my degree including laboratory work, quantitative analysis such as in IR, NMR, Mass Spectrometry. I completed a unique research project using EPR to investigate antioxidant capacity across many fruits and juices from different cultures.

John Healy

TUS, Ireland

Short Biography

Born in Longford in the midlands of Ireland, I now live in the village of Newtown Forbes, situated just outside Longford town. I am currently a student of TUS, the Technological University of the Shannon, based in the Athlone campus. I am in year three of my studies of a pharmaceutical science degree. I am the class representative for this subject. I am 21 years old. In my spare time I enjoy playing chess, going fishing and supporting Liverpool football club.

Hanifah Hussaini

Kingston University, London

Short Biography

Studying BSc Pharmaceutical Science at Kingston University, primarily organic chemistry and drug development, with particular interest in how analytical techniques can aid pharmaceutical research. Project work included an analysis and quantification of caffeine concentration in energy drinks and other caffeinated products by HPLC, which enhanced my interest in drug development, formulation, quality control and regulatory science. I would like to extend my understanding of pharmaceutical research and contribute to the future of drug development.

Vaishnavi Kumar

University of Greenwich, London

Short Biography

An MSc Pharmaceutical Sciences graduate from the University of Greenwich with a strong interest in Pharmacoeconomics and health communication. Currently an Activity Coordinator at Forest Healthcare and a Trustee and DEI Lead at a Sunlight Development Trust. An advocate for healthcare equity, designing inclusive wellbeing initiatives and supporting vulnerable individuals by translating complex concepts into clear, meaningful conversations. I aim to champion health communication further, inspiring peers,
promoting collaborative learning and highlighting how effective communication in pharmaceutical sciences can drive positive change.

Bokarr Loum

University of Greenwich, London

Short Biography

An MSc Pharmaceutical Science student with a strong academic and professional background in pharmacy and drug development. Experienced working within the pharmaceutical sector, particularly supply and distribution of medicines from urban to rural areas, which has fuelled his passion for advancing pharmaceutical science.  Committed to innovation, education and policy, he is passionate about engaging with student societies and organizations to nurture and cultivate student interest in pharmaceutical science. A strong enthusiasm for research, formulation science and pharmaceutical systems, with a focus on shaping the future of pharmaceutical practice and science across Africa and beyond.

Kehinde Munirudeen

Short Biography

I am a second-year student studying Pharmaceutical Science at the University of Greenwich. I have a passion for the pharmaceutical industry and a keen interest in drug development and am dedicated to gaining a comprehensive understanding of the field. As a student ambassador, I actively engage with prospective students, sharing insights about University life and the exciting opportunities available in pharmaceuticals. I am eager to contribute to the advancement of healthcare through my studies and future career.

Damilola Oduneye

University of Greenwich, London

Short Biography

Damilola Oduneye is an MSc Formulation Science postgraduate student whose curiosity was fuelled by a deep interest in using science to tackle everyday consumer challenges.  A strong foundation in chemistry, she is passionate about developing innovative and accessible solutions that improve health outcomes and enhance people’s daily lives. Her current research explores 3D-printed liposomal drug delivery systems, and she brings practical experience from both the FMCG sector and a regulatory agency. She hopes to engage with like-minded peers and contribute to empowering the next generation of formulation scientists.

Rafsan Hossain Sahel

London Metropolitan University, London

Short Biography

A second-year Pharmaceutical Science student at London Metropolitan University, passionate about advancing healthcare through science.  Hands-on experience supporting teaching and lab environments as a Teacher’s Assistant, he is building a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of pharmaceutical research. Aspiring to pursue a career in pharmaceutical science where he can contribute to drug development, quality control or clinical research. He is enthusiastic about building meaningful connections with professionals in the field, continuously learning, and growing through collaboration and real-world experience.
