Transforming Pharmaceutical Development with MCS and Digital Innovation Meeting a great success!
31 March 2025
The APS held the Transforming Pharmaceutical Development with MCS and Digital Innovation Meeting in conjunction with CMAC at their facility in Glasgow from 27-28 March 2025. The event was well attended and despite the challenging Scottish weather bringing the Meeting Dinner to an abrupt end, the event was a great success and received good feedback.
Many congratulations too, to our Poster Winners:

1st Place: Musab Osman – “Challenging the Concept of Strain Rate Sensitivity: Feed Frame Rotational Speed Drives Tablet Strength Variations”
2nd Place: Alexander Ryckaert – “Machine learning in direct compression: supercharging process and formulation design with quantitative tools”
3rd Place: Lujain Al-Obaidly – “Exploring the effects of porosity and mannitol content on the disintegration mechanisms of directly compressed tablets”
“I would like to say thank you very much indeed for your contributions to the MCS meeting to make it such a successful event. There was a definite buzz in the room at all times, as well as many positive interactions with the discussions afterwards. I certainly learned a lot from it. It is good to see how well the MCS concepts have become embedded in pharmaceutical science. The posters students were also extremely complimentary about their sessions and commented that people were extremely knowledgeable and supportive of their work.“

What our attendees said:
I really enjoyed my 3 days in Glasgow, the CMAC tour was a great start, and the presentation topics and discussions were really engaging and informative throughout the event. I thought there was a really nice mix of academia, pharma industry, equipment and excipient suppliers present to give a rounded perspective on MCS and drug product development – Jason Teckoe, Colorcon
Thanks for this great event on MCS. Thoroughly enjoyed all presentations, student posters, as well as discussions/ Q&As and indeed a great deal of learning and update for me. MCS metamorphosis has been truly inspiring so far and looking forward to seeing it shaping the product development landscape in coming time – Anonymous
